It will be blow to miss Leeds and Foxes ties
The groin injury is coming along and I'll be looking to get back to normal training duty in the next few days but this weekend might come a bit too soon.
I'll speak to the physio before Saturday and then we'll decide how to play things.
I'm really eager to get back involved because it seems like absolutely ages since I last played.
My original return date was planned to be the Saturday after, for the game away at Hartlepool and that might still be the case.
Obviously I'm disappointed because the two games we have coming up are massive.
They are the type of games you want to play in as both teams are among the best supported in the division.
The Leeds game in particular will be interesting because we have given them a lot of extra tickets to cope with their high demand.
It may be a strange atmosphere and I've never played in a game where you're at home but it feels like you're away – which may be the case!
I just hope the Walsall fans shout loud enough to drown the visitors out because it's going to be a tough enough match for the lads anyway.
It's an important game for us too as we have to look to end this disappointing sequence of matches without a win.
It has not been an easy start for Chris and Martin as the new managerial team.
We have a lot of senior players out at the moment. Along with myself, the squad has been missing Stephen Roberts, Rhys Weston and Michael Ricketts.
That certainly hasn't helped things recently and it has also highlighted the issue we have with strength in depth – or a lack of it.
The squad is a small one and I'm sure the gaffer will be looking to bring a few new faces in.
Speaking of Rhys Weston by the way, I got one over on him this week in training.
It was him and Stephen Roberts up against me and Rene Gilmartin in a light passing game in training.
With Rene being a goalkeeper, you might think we were the underdogs but we comfortably came through 3-1.
I'll leave you to imagine what that says about Rhys's technique!
It's been business as usual at the club apart from that, although training is always slightly different when a new manager comes in.
Chris and Martin are getting used to us and vice versa and we've been working on team shape, that kind of thing.
It hasn't transferred into results yet, although we were unlucky, in different ways, against both Hereford United and Swindon.
The Hereford game in particular was interesting because they had lots of chances but so did we.
But really when you are playing teams near the bottom of the table, you have to be looking to beat them, especially at home.
