Tsoi is king of the board

SUTTON chess king Leo Tsoi proved a master of the board as he won the West of England Under-12s Championships last weekend.

The tournament is one of the most prestigious in the junior calendar and Leo has now been invited to England trials ahead of the World Youth Championship.

Last year, Leo, who plays for Boldmere St Michaels in the Birmingham League, was given the league's Morry-Wood Junior Award for his achievements in chess.

These included representing England under-12s in matches against Belgium and Flanders.
