Craig inspires town fightback
Slough Town 2
Sutton Coldfield Town 2
STRIKER Craig Marshall was the hero as Sutton rallied from 2-0 down at half-time to draw with Slough.
The home side dominated the first half and were well worth their 2-0 half-time lead.
Sutton's cause was not helped by an injury to Craig Owen on 15 minutes and he had to be replaced by Joe Kettle.
The home side opened the scoring on 20 minutes as Sutton failed to clear their lines and Sean Sonner had a simple task of tapping home.
They doubled their lead in the 33rd minute as Elliott Buchanan shot through a crowded area to score.
The Royals brought on Richard Ball and Jake Murrall for Kettle and Nathan Moran at the start of the second half and changed to a 4-3-3 formation.
This had an almost immediate effect as they pulled a goal back in the 51st minute when Jimmy Quiggin's cross was headed home by Murrall.
Sutton were now in control and it was no surprise when they equalised on 79 minutes as Marshall met a corner at the far post and headed home.
● The Royals secured a 1-1 draw against Stourport on Monday.
Chris Keogh's men fell behind in the fourth minute to Jamie Insall's strike, but Ed Booth secured a point on 12 minutes.
