Six points and a new little baby girl – not a bad week!

LOOKING back on an eventful week, it was disappointing to go out of the Staffs Senior Cup with Vale Park so close.

Although that cup was not our top priority at the start of the season, once you get to the semi-finals you want to go and win it.

Especially when the final would have been at Vale Park – which would have brought back some fond memories of our FA Cup run last season.

We were in control against Kidsgrove but were very flat in the second half and paid the price.

However, we bounced back in the league with two wins, including what we knew would be a tricky game at Marlow.

There's another busy week ahead with three home games against Sudbury, Atherstone and Nuneaton.

It's not just physically demanding but mentally too as you have to get yourself up for every game.

But I would rather it was that way than having nothing to play for.

With the Atherstone and Nuneaton games, it's going to be the defining week of our season but they won't mean anything if we come unstuck against Sudbury first so we must focus on that.

I would like to round off with the news that I became a father for the first time last week to a little girl called Ella Grace.

I'll bring her to Church Street as soon as I can – she's a bit small at the moment but as soon as she's big enough I'll get her in a Chasetown shirt with number seven on the back!
