A great brace for Gabby

IT was obviously another great win for us on Saturday and with Arsenal only picking up a point, it means that we are back in the top four.

The pleasing thing was that we came back from a goal down to win.

Bolton are not an easy side to play against and when they went a goal up, you get thoughts of Middlesbrough going through your head and wonder if it's going to be another game like when we lost to them.

But fortunately the lads kept their composure and fought their way back into the game and it was a fairly comfortable win in the end.

It was a big victory and kept the momentum going in to the Hamburg game last night.

I was pleased for Gabby Agbonlahor (pictured) to score a couple of goals.

He has been doing his fair share of hard work for the side but when you are a striker your aim is to score goals and it was important for him to get a couple.

Gabby and Ashley Young are obviously two players very much in Fabio Capello's mind for the England set up.

I also heard this week that James Milner is in his thoughts.

Milner, for me , has a lot of ability and can go past players and put in great crosses but I still don't think we have seen the best of him yet this season.

And that's a real positive for the Villa because there is more to come from him.

This weekend, we travel to West Ham United and, despite all the financial worries at the club, Ginafranco Zola seems to be finding his feet there as manager.

They picked up a good draw at Anfield a couple of weeks ago and last weekend got a cracking draw at Chelsea.

So they will go into the game full of confidence I'm sure.

They are not a side you would expect to finish in the bottom three but, on saying that, they won't have any money available in January, so they could still get dragged into it.

From a Villa point of view, I'm looking forward to the January transfer window. It should be interesting times though I don't think there will be much money about in general because of the financial climate.

Man City will be the big spenders and that might kick start a few other deals but most teams are likely to go for loans.

Randy Lerner though has been a great chairman at Villa and I suspect he will give Martin O'Neill his financial backing to go out and pick up a striker like Emile Heskey or Kevin Doyle.

It will be interesting to see what the club has up its sleeve.
