As I mentioned in the column last week, Leamington had made a seven-day approach for me but things got complicated when their manager was sacked.
I actually received a call from the Leamington chairman and he said they were still keen to sort something out.
But when a new manager comes in, it's always a period of uncertainty and I just thought it was the wrong time to be going.
I also looked at how well we've picked up lately and I didn't feel the time was right to go – I'm very happy at Chasetown.
I was even happier on Tuesday night – when I got my first goal for goodness knows how long.
It's been a long time coming and I've been getting a bit of stick off the lads, especially after missing a great chance at Kidsgrove on Saturday.
It's been weighing on my mind a bit and goal-scoring is one thing in my game I need to improve – and not just me, we've all spoke about needing to get more goals from midfield collectively.
Speaking of Kidsgrove anyway, it was a great win – and if we can get things to click like we have in the last two games, we will take some stopping.
The wins at Kidsgrove and Rushall were two great performances where we created lots of chances and played good football. We need to keep that going and put a run together and hopefully, come Christmas time, we'll be sitting pretty in a good position.
On a personal note, the last couple of games have been particularly good because I've been given a bit more freedom.
I've enjoyed them as much as any games I can remember for a long time – I don't mind doing the defensive stuff but it's not my strength so to have a floating role has been brilliant.
Anyway, we look forward to Goole on Saturday – as we've seen in this league every game is tough.
But it would be nice to put on a good display of attacking football at home because most of our better performances this season seem to have come on the road.
