Keep an eye out for Soccer AM...

I've just about woken up enough to write the column this week – I didn't get into bed until 3.30am on Tuesday night after our trip to Carlisle!

I think we got back to the stadium about 2.15am and then I had to drive back to my house in Leamington.

It's certainly been a tough few days with the two long coach journeys but we would have taken a point from each and that's what we got.

Both games were draining and the lads were really grateful for the support we got from our fans – it's a long way to travel so we'd like to say a big thank you to them.

I thought a draw was probably the fair result in both games.

At Carlisle we weren't at the races in the first half and could have gone in at half time more than 1-0 down but second half we were much better.

Up next we host Colchester United, who lost at home in midweek to Tranmere Rovers.

But before that loss, Colchester had been unbeaten in eight or nine games and they have a great away record.

They were one of the favourites for promotion at the start of the season and although it hasn't quite happened for them, it's still another tough game for us.

On a personal note I was delighted to be in the thick of things on the pitch over the last few days.

I haven't quite got my match fitness back but that will come and I'm glad to back with the boys.

I can't finish the column without mentioning Anthony Gerrard's own goal at Hartlepool.

We were all gutted about it at the time but he got a bit of stick about it on the coach back.

And I was straight on the phone to Soccer AM so hopefully they'll show it this Saturday!
