We edged feisty Nuneaton battle

TUESDAY night's game at Nuneaton was certainly a feisty one and it was strange because there weren't many bad tackles.

Chad Sheppard went in a bit late on Paul Spacey but I must admit I thought he made a meal of it – although when he took his pad off there was a nasty cut.

Our bench thought he made a meal of it too and both managers ended up being sent to the stands!

It was quite funny to see Charlie up in the stands with the fans – and you could still hear him over anyone else!

As for the game, I thought we just shaded it as they had the best of the first half but we absolutely dominated the second.

I had a good chance near the end that I should have put away so I was disappointed too.

I was also disappointed on Saturday when I got taken off after an hour in our 1-0 win over Woodford United.

There was a bit of a reaction from me too as rather than sit in the dug-out I went to take a shower and Charlie called me back – he likes everyone to stay and watch the game.

I was gutted to go off and frustrated with how the game was going.

I've known Charlie for four seasons now and I thoroughly enjoy playing for him. He explained the tactical change, we had a little chat and I apologised for reacting how I had.

We spoke man to man and shook hands and it was put to bed – I just want to put that on the record because a few fans have asked me about it.

Both Charlie and myself wear our hearts on our sleeves and we both care a great deal about this football club.
