Blues and Wolves are up there challenging for the Championship title this season and will not relish going head to head against each other too often in an already tough campaign.
So it was bound to be then that the two clubs got drawn to together in the third round of the FA Cup this week.
The irony was that the draw was made only 24 hours after the sides had played at Molineux in the league.
The draw may have only happened on Sunday but Blues have already come out and said that season ticket holders will be able to go to the game for free.
That is a great move in my opinion and really shows how much the club values the fans.
I have spoke to a few season ticket holders in recent weeks and I must admit a lot of them were feeling like they were being taken for granted a little bit – especially with all the discounted tickets for certain games.
Season ticket holders are the lifeblood of any club as they are the ones who come down every week.
That is why it really was such a good move to let them in free for the Wolves game.
It will also guarantee a good atmosphere and believe me as players that can make a huge different.
I do not know of one player who did not get excited about playing in front of a big buzzing crowd.
After the game last weekend against Wolves, the Blues fans will need to be there cheering their team on.
It was a close match and, to be honest, although Blues let a lead slip I think they will not be too upset about the result.
You will be left feeling what if, but Wolves are not top for no reason.
They have got goals in them and they showed that threat against Blues.
Saying that, Blues coped with it well and they will be happy that they are more than a match for Wolves this season.
A point at Molineux is always good anyway as I have played in a lot of those games and they are tough.
They are not up there with the Blues-Villa games but they are the next best thing.
Blues will be hoping to carry on that kind of form when they play Watford at home this weekend.
Watford are one of my former teams and I know a lot about them.
That does not mean my loyalties are split, though, as I will still be cheering all out for a Blues win.
It will be a tough game to get a win from as although Watford are down there they have a good squad and more importantly a new manager.
That is no disrespect to Ady Boothroyd as he was a manager I knew and rated a lot.
But it happens a lot in football, teams do not win for a while, get a new manager and then put a few results together.
It is strange why that happens but it will be something that Blues must be wary of this weekend.
