Our game at Bromsgrove on Saturday was a tricky one against a side who, having come down last year, I expected to be nearer the top.
The pitch was really cutting up and it was difficult for us to play our game but after the break we managed to stamp our authority on the match.
Leamington lost on both Saturday and Tuesday – with it being such a tough league I didn't expect them to go the whole season unbeaten but it was a shock to see them lose three home games on the bounce.
However, they are still sitting pretty at the top with a decent cushion.
We host them on Tuesday night but first we entertain Sutton Coldfield Town on Saturday – and form wise there couldn't be a more difficult team to face at the moment.
The squad was strengthened this week with the arrivals of Chad Sheppard and Adam Burley from Hednesford.
They may have to wait a little while to get their chance as we have got a good strong squad – the players we have on the bench could walk into any side in this division.
It was nice to see Dean Perrow and Dave Woodvine back in the Staffs Senior Cup win over Stoke on Tuesday.
Dean's strike will be a big confidence boost for him and his goals will be vital for us if he gets himself fit.
To round off, the lads and I would like to say a big thanks to the fans who went to Bromsgrove last weekend. The crowd was 300-odd and half of them were our fans – it really felt like a home game.
If we can get that same atmosphere in the two games this week, it will give us a massive boost.
