POLICE are appealing for help in tracing this man in connection with a sex offence on a train travelling between Aston and Wylde Green railway stations.

A woman travelling on the 10.05pm Birmingham New Street to Lichfield service on Wednesday, January 13, reported that a man had exposed himself to her while she was sitting in a carriage.

It is thought the offender boarded the train at Aston and got off at Wylde Green station.

Five days later, on Monday, January 18, the victim went to catch the same train from Birmingham New Street and spotted the same man on the platform.

She informed security staff who removed the man from the train but allowed him to leave the station.

British Transport Police (BTP) now want to speak to a man pictured in this CCTV image. He is described as white, aged about 40, about 6ft tall and of medium build.

He was wearing a check jacket or shirt which had either blue or black stripes and white squares. He was also wearing dark blue jeans and a black woolly hat.

Anyone who knows the identity of the man or his whereabouts is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, quoting log reference 543 of 13/01/10.
