Blues can take maximum points

IT is definitely game on now as far as the Championship title is concerned.

A win for the Blues last weekend at home to Nottingham Forest has moved Alex McLeish's men into within touching distance of Wolves at the top of the table.

And with the men from Molineux having a bit of a bad spell at the moment things are looking good for Blues.

The win against Forest was an impressive result as they have been in a run of good form since Billy Davies and David Kelly took over.

Their results have turned around and they look now more than capable of staying up because of that.

It was good to see Marcus Bent get on the scoresheet also in that game as he is a player I know well and it has not quite worked out for him so far at the club.

I played alongside Marcus when I was at Sheffield United and he is a cracking player and a cracking lad too.

I thought he would be very good for the Blues this season but for one reason or another it has not turned out like he thought it would here.

Nonetheless he is still trying and that will only help to win the fans over.

So with that win against Forest in the bag the whole team will now be looking forward to a tough week ahead.

First up is Coventry away from home on Saturday and then on Tuesday night Blues travel to Crystal Palace.

The Coventry game will be tough but thanks to other distractions it is one I would like to see the Blues win.

Coventry are still in the FA Cup, and with them not really having a chance of promotion this season you would think they would be concentrating on that rather than the league.

I was at the game at St Andrews when Coventry game to town and it was not really a game in which Blues covered themselves in glory in.

They will be looking to make amends for that on Saturday – especially with the tough game on Tuesday night.

Crystal Palace away from home is the kind of game no player, fan or manager wants to see.

With Neil Warnock at the helm Palace are a horrible team to play against.

I know that more than most as I have played against Warnock's teams before and also for them.
