Baggies in real need of aggression

WELL, what a shocker it was for West Brom in the north east!

Defeat against Sunderland was very disappointing and pretty hard to take.

It was just a lethargic performance and it was like the team just laid down and died.

That's a concern when that starts to happen and it's not something you want to see.

It was such an important game and really Albion needed a point from it.

Had they won, they could have leapfrogged a couple of teams but now they are chasing and with Manchester City and Chelsea next up, you start to wonder where the points are coming from.

I don't say that to be negative, I'm just being a realist and something has got to change.

Hopefully, Tony Mowbray, who is a good man and manager, can bring in someone in the transfer window that can change the team's fortunes around.

Because, although it looks bleak at the moment, back to back wins would make such a difference.

The question is, though, who can he bring in?

By all accounts he is going to have to rely on loans and, besides, when you are precariously placed at the bottom of the table, it's hard to attract players permanently anyway.

As far as the current set of players are concerned, I think they need to start wearing their hearts on the sleeves a bit more.

The players need to show more aggression, get in people's faces and show some passion.

Paul Robinson (right) is someone who, in the past, has shown that desire but whether he's been told to curb his aggression too much, I'm not sure. Even he seems a bit subdued at the moment.

It would be nice to have a player who could really get the team moving and the fans going as well.
