Motorists warned over closure of M6

AS THE summer getaway begins in earnest this weekend, motorists across the region are being warned of potential delays.

This is because the southbound carriageway of the M6 will be closed between junction 11 at Cannock to junction 7 at Great Barr.

The closure will be in operation from 10pm on Friday July 23 to 8am on Saturday July 24 and again from 8pm on Saturday July 24 to 10am on Sunday July 25.

Drivers wishing to continue south beyond junction 11 will be able to follow the signed diversion route via the A460, A449, A4150, A454, A4148 and A34 to rejoin the M6 southbound at junction 7.

There will be no southbound access to Hilton Park Service Area from the M6 during the closure. The next available services on the M6 southbound are between junctions 2 and 3, Corley Services.
