Man robbed in Great Barr street

STREET robbers attacked a man in Great Barr knocking him over as he was sending a text on his mobile phone.

The robbery took place in Hillingford Avenue at 7.45am on Monday, January 25.

The 31-year-old victim was walking in the direction of Collingwood Drive when he was approached from behind by two men while using his phone.

One of the attackers tried to snatch his phone and as he struggled the second hit him on the head and knocked him to the floor.

The man's phone was damaged and the attackers stole a small amount of cash before running off.

A Good Samaritan then drove the victim to Sandwell Hospital.

One of the offenders is described as a 25-year-old white man, around 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall, of slim build, rough looking, wearing black Reebok track suit bottoms, a black hooded top and trainers.
