Burglary as family visited hospital
The family returned to their Grestone Avenue house after a trip to see their daughter, who has cancer, on Friday, January 9, to find it had been broken into, some time between 8.20am and 2.30pm.
The offenders stole jewellery, computer equipment, mobile phones and a TV. Detective Constable Asam Shazad, who is investigating the burglary, said: "The family is obviously going through a very difficult time with their daughter currently receiving treatment for cancer, and this has been hugely upsetting for them.
"They are desperate for the return of their possessions and want the people responsible caught. We urge anyone with information to come forward."
The two male burglars were seen leaving the area in a silver car with a yellow taxi number plate, bearing a partial registration number BA2 or BY2.
The first man was described as black, of medium build, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in, and in his late teens to early 20s. The second man was possibly Chinese or Vietnamese, of medium build, 5ft 8in to 5ft 11in, and also in his late teens to early 20s.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the CID at Thornhill Road police station, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
