Park was left looking like a tip

Friday, January 22, 2010, 11:41

NOW the snow has gone and people have gone back to work and school, I decided to go with my partner and daughter for a Sunday walk in Red House Park.

We took some bread to feed the ducks but we were horrified to find where everyone, old as well as young, had been enjoying the snow by sledging on the hill, had left the area looking like a tip.

There were broken sledges, for sale boards, plastic sheeting and even a broken plastic canoe just dumped at the bottom of the hill instead of being put next to a rubbish bin or even taken home and put in a recycle bin.

The ponds are also littered with broken sledges and plastic sheeting. They should all be ashamed of themselves. They would be the first people to complain if such a mess was left outside their house.

I have attached some photographs I have taken and hope you will publish them with a bold headline to catch people's attention.
