HOME-START Kingstanding would like to say a big thank you to Asda Queslett and its shoppers.

They supported the Have A Heart And Give A Gift At Asda Christmas appeal, with shoppers donating gifts and toys which were given out to the children of families we support at our Christmas parties.

As a consequence, more than 100 children received presents from Father Christmas.

Home-Start Kingstanding is the local branch of the UK's leading family support charity and offers support, friendship and practical help through difficult times to families with at least one child under five.

It offers help by visiting families at home and at their family groups.

Home-Start is always looking to recruit volunteers to keep up with demand.

Volunteers are people who are parents themselves, so understand the pressures of family life.

They offer informal support, friendship, practical help and a listening ear.

The next volunteer course starts on February 22.
