Roms hit the road
The Roms are looking ahead to two away days in the next seven days – travelling to Rothwell Town tomorrow and to Stourport Swifts on Tuesday night.
The games come after another frustrating week of inactivity for the Coles Lane outfit.
Having suffered another two postponements this week, league fixtures against Leighton on Saturday and at Atherstone on Tuesday night, the Roms are left to fit a massive 21 league and cup fixtures into a hectic final eight weeks of the season.
But Evans (left) said: "We will be able to cope with the games by using our squad, players may be rested that others might be surprised about.
"We have 18 good players plus at least four youth lads who will get games, we always give youngsters their opportunity at this club so it's an ideal chance for them to shine."
The Roms boss could be forgiven for not being so upbeat though after a training ground accident saw new recruit Richard Brown hospitalised in his first training session.
Defender Brown, signed from Market Drayton Town to replace Richard Munday, who this week signed for Conference North side Redditch United, required surgery on his shin and was expected to return home earlier this week.
Despite the setback, Evans was confident of maximum points from both of his sides fixtures in the week ahead.
"Rothwell and Stourport are both similar games, both have struggled for form lately and havem't shown the form we have so we expect to pick up points if we perform to our current levels.
"Our system looks strong and the lads are doing what we want from them. They are a good bunch and I can ask no more."
