Roms boss wants failings addressed
The Roms bounced back from a defeat against leaders Burnham with a win over Bromsgrove Rovers on Tuesday night.
After dominating possession and creating most of the openings, the Roms lost 1-0 to Burnham, but defeated a youthful Rovers side 2-1 with a far less polished performance in their mid-week clash.
Boss Evans (pictured) said: "The Bromsgrove game was a poor match overall, but any win is a good result. It was nice to win a bad game where we weren't at our best; it's about time it happened that way around for us.
"I was very disappointed with result against Burnham as we bossed the game.
"Our finishing is very poor, not up to the standards that the best sides in this league set.
"If we want to progress we must address this. It's been a problem all season and, to be fair, we can't just blame the players.
"I am looking at getting better training facilities so we can work on things like our finishing.
"To sum up the Burnham game, they got out of jail. We weren't robbed by anyone other than ourselves by having no killer instinct."
This week sees the Roms go on the road twice to sides around the lower reaches of the table, starting with Soham Town Rangers on Saturday, before facing bottom side Aylesbury United on Wednesday.
Evans added: "Both are must-win games for us. We're looking for six points out of six.
"The league is all about trying to win every game and seeing where we end up. Nothing changes there; Romulus will not waste a game by not putting effort into winning it."
Richard Evans Junior is struggling with a knee problem that saw him substituted against Bromsgrove, but Richard Brown and Leo Brown should return, while Jerome Grandison has completed a suspension. Peter Folkes is also back in training after a long-term lay-off.
