SUTTON can boast seven of the West Midlands' ten most expensive roads, according to a new survey released this week. The B74 post-code once again dominated the rankings in mouseprice.com's annual survey with Roman Grange, Little Aston topping the list for the third year running.

Average house prices on the private road are pitched at £1,253,900 – an increase of just over £2,000 compared to last year.

Bracebridge Road, Luttrell Road and Ladywood Road in the affluent ward of Four Oaks are ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Beechwood Croft and Squirrel Walk, Little Aston, came in sixth and seventh.

Roman Road, Little Aston dropped out of this year's list and is replaced by Hartopp Road, of Four Oaks with an average house price of £974,500.

Sutton MP Andrew Mitchell said: "The fact is that Sutton, in spite of our difficulties is one of the nicest places to live in Britain.

"It is up to all of us to make sure that we maintain and enhance what makes Sutton such a nice place and work hard to ensure we improve what needs improving."

The annual street ranking survey uses average house prices to measure exclusivity across the UK.

None of the streets in this year's top ten have experienced notable falls in value, suggesting market conditions over the past year have had little effect on the most expensive areas, despite the desolate backdrop of Mere Green shopping centre.

Farquhar Road, Edgbaston was ranked in second place, with an average value of £1,185,400.

Grovehurst Park, Kenilworth was ranked eighth and New Wood Lane, Blakedown came in ninth.

Nationally the West Midlands was ranked sixth.

Roman Grange in Little Aston topped the list of the West Midlands most expensive roads for the third time in a row.
