It's a lovely feeling to be back on top of the league
We have been playing catch-up with Gateshead for a while and, although we had games in hand, you have to win those matches.
Back-to-back wins over Fleetwood and Southport have now put us in pole position but we are taking nothing for granted and the hard work must continue from this point.
We are top of the league but now have to cement that with another good performance at Harrogate this weekend and that won't be easy.
They are doing very well in the league and had a good win midweek. The play-offs are still in their mind.
But we have shown that, if we approach games in the right frame of mind, we are a match for anyone. We are not scared of anyone.
I thought the performance at Southport on Tuesday night was absolutely fantastic.
It's very rare in football that you get nights where, from 1 to 11, everyone turns in a good performance.
I thought Southport was one of those nights.
We played some great stuff in the first half and could have gone in with a two or three goal advantage.
Southport came at us a bit more in the second half, mainly through long balls and long throws but we dealt with their set-pieces really well and it was a massive, massive win.
We had to battle as shown by Michael Wylde getting a bloodied nose. I think his nose was put out of joint a bit but that might have done him a favour and made him a bit better looking.
Obviously it was great for Wrighty to get the winner as well.
I've said before, he has a key role to play for us and hopefully in the last six games he can play a significant part for us.
Another player that I'd like to give a mention to is our keeper Danny Alcock.
Firstly I'd like to wish him and his good lady well as they are expecting their first child any moment now.
I thought at one point I was going to have to stand in as keeper if he got the call before the Southport game!
But I also think he's been great for us since he joined and probably goes a bit unnoticed.
On Saturday, he pulled off a great save in the dying seconds but has also given the defence real confidence.
That's not taking anything away from the lads we have had on loan because they have played a big part in where we are.
But having a regular keeper has been great for us and his contribution has been superb.
Now, after our great win over Southport, it's back to the hard work.
We are looking forward to our test at Harrogate and hopefuly we can return with three more valuable points.
