It has finally sunk in what we have achieved

WELL, our season has come to an end – and what an end it has been!

For me, it has finally sunk in what we have all achieved, collectively, as a football club.

It's been a terrific season and to win the Conference North title is a magnificent achievement from everyone concerned.

I think Telford was a nice place to celebrate our title success.

We had had the chance to celebrate in front of our own fans with our magnificent win over Hinckley United the previous Tuesday.

So, as away games go, to go to Telford, who have an impressive stadium, was sweet.

I think we rounded off the season in style to be honest. It was a good occasion and to end with a point and a clean sheet was pleasing.

The gaffer even came on for a couple of minutes at the end which was nice.

He told us he was coming on for a two minute cameo and I think it took him two minutes to get from the dugout to my side of the pitch! I'm not sure he got a touch.

In all seriousness though, it was great to see him come on. He's done a superb job this season after the tough times he went through last year.

He deserves the success we have achieved more than anyone.

For me, personally, I'm looking forward to the break now for a bit. I'll be chilling out and playing a bit of golf, generally just relaxing and resting up.

It's been a long hard season, a tough slog, and you look forward to a little break.

Before that, we have the presentation evening on Saturday and that should be a great occasion.

Last year, with the season we had, it was a bit quiet but we have the chance to celebrate this time.

I'm not sure who will win the main awards on the night but I would imagine people have had a tough time choosing winners because it's been such a great season with so many top performers.

Finally, I'd just like to say a big thank you to all the readers of the column this year.

It's been a fantastic season and I hope everyone has enjoyed it and is revelling in the glory of being Conference North champions!
