Another fantastic week puts us on course for glory

IT'S been a fantastic week for the club with two away wins putting us in a great position with eight games remaining.

Hucknall was never going to be an easy place to go.

They might be bottom but they are fighting for their lives and showed that on Saturday.

It was a tough, dry, bobbly pitch to play on but I thought we showed real character to come from behind twice and win.

At Burscough on Tuesday evening, we also had to work very hard for the three points.

We could have been two or three up at the break I felt but it was hard work after half time.

The conditions were some of the worse I have played in for a long while and that made it hard.

But we battled well and came away with the three points and it's very much in our hands now.

We have a massive, massive week now with games against Fleetwood and then Southport.

It can be hard, when games are running out, not to look too far ahead but that's exactly what you have to do.

The Southport match is one we have to put out of our minds for now because it's Fleetwood that matters.

They have done well lately under Micky Mellon. He's someone I have come across in the past although we weren't at West Bromwich Albion at the same time.

It'll be a tough game for us but we have every reason to be confident going into the match.

Finally, I'd like to properly welcome Michael Blackwood to the club .

I had a spell with him at Telford a couple of years back and he's a good footballer.

He showed the fans on his debut that he's a threat going forward but was also able to dig in at Burscough.

Hopefully he can maintain the start he has made and I'm sure he'll be a big contributor in the last eight games.
