Reward for services to cricket club

SUTTON Coldfield Cricket Club president James Ross has been rewarded for his services to the regional game by being appointed as vice-president of the Birmingham League.

Ross previously held several important offices in the Willis-Corron League before it amalgamated with the Birmingham League in 1997.

He joins a number of other vice-presidents from local clubs – Colin Price, Robert Ingram and John Reeves from Aston Unity, former league president Barry Stokes of Walmley and Ken Lancaster, also of Sutton.

Meanwhile, Sutton CC are continuing their indoor practice sessions at Bishop Vesey Grammar School on Tuesday evening for juniors and Thursdays for seniors. New members are welcome.

The club will be holding its annual dinner and presentation evening tonight (Friday) at Moor Hall Golf Club.
