Parso's injury took the shine off fantastic victory over Leamington

AFTER the game on Tuesday night we were delighted with the result but it made Saturday's slip-up at home to Sutton even harder to take.

Looking back on the weekend's game first, the gaffer Charlie has always said you can get away with one or two players having an off day but not five or six – and that's what happened.

We started well but after that we were a bit flat and we couldn't put our finger on why.

But we couldn't really ask for a better game to bounce back with than the Leamington one.

It was a great finish from Dean Perrow and then he stuck away the penalty as well – he looked back to his best and was the difference between the sides.

In the changing room after the game, though, we said that that result will mean nothing if we come undone at Stourport this weekend.

And then after that it's another massive game at home to Nuneaton on Tuesday night, who are on a great run too although they got a bit lucky with a late goal in midweek.

I'd like to round off by giving a quick mention to Lee Parsons, who was stretchered off Tuesday.

Parso was at the club when I first arrived and has become more of a friend than a teammate.

He's had a knee injury but looked to be over them so when he was down on the pitch at the end of the game, it took the shine off the result for me.

He's got to have a scan on it in the next couple of days and myself and the rest of the lads have our fingers crossed that he's ok.
